meet Kristen.
Born and raised in Covington (aka Mystic Falls for TVD fans), Georgia, Kristen's early passion was sports, especially soccer and volleyball. Her original career path was aimed at a sports-related future. However, her life had other plans. She started beginner French courses at Mercer University in Macon, GA, as a part of the freshman curriculum, which ignited an unexpected love for the language and culture.
After summers in France, studying in Angers and completing her French, Graphic Design and Business studies at Mercer, Kristen moved to Paris to pursue a Master's Degree in Art Direction. She balanced her studies at Ynov's Nanterre location with work at a French startup at Station F en alternance.
The onset of the global pandemic, COVID-19, disrupted everyone's plans, pushing remote classes and work. However, as Paris gradually regained its vibrancy, Kristen seized the opportunity to explore her love for travel before returning home to reunite with her family. She briefly freelanced and later became a Community Manager in Atlanta.
Kristen's life took an expected turn in her hometown Covington, Georgia when she met Antoine, at her favorite local café. What are the odds that she would run into the perfect guy in her tiny small town? (It's giving Hallmark Christmas Movie vibes, I know). What was a 20-something French guy doing in Covington? meet Antoine.
Born in Rennes in the region of Bretagne in France, Antoine naturally stayed in the area for school, until moving to pursue his studies in Nantes. After obtaining his Master's degree, and working for Airbus, his next step was Paris to work as a financial controller for an international company.
6 months later, he was on his way to the small town of Covington, GA to work at one of his company's US locations as a VIE. Covington is about 40 minutes outside of Atlanta. Being more of a city fan, he decided to live in the city, and commute to the suburbs each day (the opposite of what most locals do lol).
One day for lunch, he grabbed a sandwich at the same bakery where Kristen brought her laptop to work remotely, and the rest was history.
Antoine and Kristen are both currently located in Paris.
